Turkey Green Deal Program: Boosting Exporters with Ambitious Sustainability Initiatives

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced a program to assist exporting companies in their green and digital transformation journeys. The program covers half of consultancy service expenses up to TL 10 million for five years.

Bolat highlighted the growth of the Turkish economy and the importance of foreign trade, with last year’s exports reaching a record high of $255.4 billion. He emphasized the significance of the EU-Turkey trade relationship and the need for sectors to adapt to green transformation policies.

The Green Deal Adaptation Project aims to guide companies in green and digital transformation for sustainable exports. The program consists of three stages: analyzing the company’s current situation, providing feasibility consultancy, and monitoring implemented projects.

Companies can access support for IT and sustainability consultancy expenses to create a corporate infrastructure. Collaboration with the Public Oversight, Accounting, and Auditing Standards Authority will ensure high-quality standards are met.

Overall, the program focuses on helping companies navigate the evolving international trade landscape and ensure the sustainability of their exports.
