First Lady Erdoğan Marks 7th Anniversary of Zero Waste Project: A Celebration of Environmental Awareness

First Lady Emine Erdogan marked the seventh anniversary of the Zero Waste Project, highlighting its global impact. The initiative, known as “7 Continents in 7 Years,” has been a beacon of hope for the environment over the past seven years, showcasing Turkey’s leadership in sustainability.

With the support of the Turkish nation and the dedication of government bodies, Turkey has been at the forefront of the global environmental movement. The United Nations General Assembly recently declared March 30 as International Zero Waste Day, marking a new milestone in the fight against climate change.

Emine Erdogan urged all nature enthusiasts to join the Global Zero Waste goodwill declaration and show their support for the cause. The Zero Waste Project, launched in 2017 under her leadership, focuses on waste reduction, resource optimization, and recycling to combat climate change.

The project, managed by the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, promotes public awareness and education on sustainable waste management practices. Measures such as banning plastic bags nationwide in 2019 have been implemented to support these environmental goals.
