Fundraiser for Leeds girl’s vision of a litter-free world: Support the cause!

The family of Matilda Pritchard, an 11-year-old girl who tragically passed away in her sleep, has launched a fundraiser to fulfill her dream of creating a world without litter. Matilda, who had an undiagnosed heart condition, was passionate about nature and the environment. She was a dedicated member of a local litter-picking group and even earned a Blue Peter badge for her efforts.

After her untimely death, Matilda’s family set up a fundraiser for Keep Britain Tidy to support her vision. They initially aimed to raise £11,213, representing Matilda’s birthday, and quickly surpassed this target. The fundraiser has now been extended to £42,000 to fund litter campaigns in schools for the next five years, symbolizing the time Matilda would have spent in secondary school.

Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive expressed gratitude to the Pritchard family for their efforts, emphasizing Matilda’s passion for a clean and tidy environment. The family’s dedication to honoring Matilda’s dream serves as a reminder of the impact one person can make in creating a cleaner world.
